EU CyberNet Crash Course

EU CyberNet organises practical crash courses on current cybersecurity issues.

One of EU CyberNet’s primary objectives is to build communities for EU external cyber capacity building. To fulfil this purpose, EU CyberNet (EUCN) has established, so far, a cyber security community of 500+ experts on topics such as cybersecurity, cybercrime and other related fields to assess partner countries’ needs, organise training courses and offer expertise to support various initiatives around the world. Ensuring this network is constantly improved with added value to its own experts is essential.

Since October 2023, the Experts Lead has undergone individual meet-ups with experts in the pool. With over 200 communications so far it is clear that the EU CyberNet Expert Pool needs more qualitative initiatives for the growth of its expertise.

Continuous learning is essential for cyber experts due to the dynamic and rapidly evolving nature of the cyber landscape. The rapid evolution of threats, advancements in technology, new regulatory changes, the need to stay competitive in the cyber market as well as fostering innovation in the CCB delivery are just a few reasons as of why it is mandatory to nurture such expertise and advance the field, more so, because EU CyberNet Expert Pool is not just a simple Roster, but a Network of Cyber Excellence.

The first crash course took place in May 2025 with a focus on countering cyberattacks, including understanding attacks and building defences. Led by Joseph Carson, the half-day virtual crash course brought together EU CyberNet Expert Pool members in a new format for an interactive learning experience, designed to offer both theoretical and practical perspective on cyberattacks and their unfold. Read the wrap-up here.

The second crash course took place in October 2025 with a focus on linking cyber and disinformation.
