Visiting the EU CyberNet website

The data collected and saved in regard to visitors when they visit our website are restricted to the following: the Internet address (IP address) of the computer or computer network being used; the page(s) visited; the computer’s Internet browser and operating system; the time of the visit; the user’s device (generalised); the size and language selection of the page browser; and the service provider, domain name and region. More detailed information can be found in our cookie policy below.

The data controller is State Information System Authority (RIA), who collects the personal data and determines the purpose and means of the processing.

IP addresses are not linked to any information identifying the user. We collect data regarding the part(s) of the website visited and how long the user spends on them. We use the data we collect to produce site visit statistics for use in developing the website and making it easier for users to use.

Collection of other personal data

We also collect your personal data if you provide them to us yourself (for example, when contacting us over the phone, by e-mail, via the website, at our office or at public events we organise). Personal data provided to us are processed by the Information System Authority as part of the EU CyberNet project (i.e. the EU Cyber Capacity Building Network (IFS/2019/405-538) project) in order to establish and manage a network of experts.

The personal data we process are your:

  • Agency/company/institution
  • Citizenship
  • Date of birth, educational background, professional skills, employment history, etc. (as part of your CV)
  • Other personal data that might be included in the CV

In providing us with your e-mail address, you consent to us sending you our newsletter.

Various institutions of the European Commission and other European Commission projects may also be granted access to the EU CyberNet project’s network of experts if this is deemed necessary due to the objectives of the EU CyberNet project, except in cases where this is outweighed by your interests or constitutional rights or freedoms, in whose name personal data must be protected, and also in cases where this is necessary in order to protect your vital interests or those of another physical person. The personal data of a visitor who provides such data (hereafter referred to as a Member) shall be stored indefinitely during the running of the project. Should a Member wish to terminate their involvement in the project, they have the right to apply to the Information System Authority for the deletion of their personal data, upon receipt of which all personal data related to the Member shall be deleted from the project database.

What are your rights and how can you exercise them?

You have specific rights as a ‘data subject’ under Chapter III (Articles 14-25) of Regulation (EU) 2018/1725, in particular the right to access, rectify or erase your personal data and the right to restrict the processing of your personal data. Where applicable, you also have the right to object to the processing or the right to data portability. We may restrict your right to obtain information and your personal data if this has the potential to:

  • infringe the rights and freedoms of another individual;
  • hinder the obstruction of a crime or the apprehension of a criminal or complicate the determination of the truth in criminal proceedings;
  • threaten national security.

You can exercise your rights by contacting the Data Controller (State Information System Authority), or in case of conflict the Data Protection Officer ().
