Cyber Hygiene Platform

The EU CyberNet platform, available in Spanish and English and launched in May 2023, provides an opportunity for organisations to offer a basic- level cyber hygiene course for their staff.

Although there is a multitude of reasons why cyber incidents happen, various studies indicate human error as the number one threat vector. While an organisation can be equipped with the latest and greatest IT security systems, the employees can make the organization very vulnerable to cyber threats by falling for phishing, using weak passwords and have generally poor cyber hygiene.

Cyber hygiene is of concern to anyone – a simple mistake can have tremendous consequences for an individual, for his/her organisation and colleagues, or even for the whole country.

The most effective way to combat the challenges mentioned above is to train people’s awareness of cyber threats and explain ways to avoid common mistakes. EU CyberNet has thus established a cyber hygiene platform for organisations to offer basic-level cyber hygiene course for their staff.

Key features include:

  • Testing a participants’ current understanding of and behavior towards cyber hygiene with real-life scenarios.
  • Providing a learning environment which empowers participant with the necessary knowledge to recognize threats, adjust behavior, and to increase cyber awareness and enhance basic hygiene in their organisation.

  • Course offers text, videos, puzzles, quizzes and case studies for gradual knowledge checks.

Key topics:

  • Cyber hygiene;
  • Threat recognition;
  • Cyber awareness;
  • Basic cyber hygiene;
  • Cyber attacks;
  • Passwords and multi-factor authentication;
  • Antivirus and antimalware programs;
  • Secure remote working practices;
  • VPNs and public WIFI;
  • Device sharing.

To-date, more than 40.000 people have used the platform to increase their knowledge already.

The platform is open for public sector organisations for cyber capacity building from EU CyberNet project priority countries.
