EU CyberNet’s 2024 Wrapped!

EU CyberNet’s 2024 is wrapped: a year of building bridges and navigating the path to stronger cyber capacity across the world. The EU CyberNet team wishes happy holidays’ season and is looking forward to 2025 with excitement!

“As we close the chapter of 2024, we’re reflecting on a year of milestones and achievements. Our mission of enhancing international collaboration in cyber capacity building has thrived thanks to our incredible Expert Network and partners.” – Liina Areng, EU CyberNet Director. 

2024 in numbers 

  • 57 Countries Reached: From Europe to the Americas and beyond, our initiatives we on a global scale. 
  • 167 new experts in the Expert Pool: Our Expert Pool now connects 484 cyber experts to tackle global cyber challenges. 
  • 90+ activities organised and events attended: from workshops to policy dialogues and drills, we delivered practical hands-on trainings and knowledge-enriching opportunities. 
  • 3200+ participants in attendance: engaging from grass-root level to facilitate knowledge-transfer.  
  • 6 new LAC4 members: Antigua & Barbuda, Ecuador, Guatemala, Uruguay, Cyber 4.0 and NUMU are building cyber resilience in Latin Americas and the Caribbean. 
  • 47 new stakeholders: Connecting almost 120 European stakeholders and projects to act together.

“As we gear up for 2025, we remain focused on delivering practical, needs-based capacity building initiatives and fostering cross-border, cross-regional community development to enhance cyber resilience globally. A special attention will continue to be placed on increasing women participation and engagement in cybersecurity, while also bringing practical capacity building initiatives to SMEs and local municipalities. We look forward to 2025 with new cooperation initiatives with key European and LAC stakeholders as well as continue with our well-established flagship events like CyberWeek – 0ct0b3rf35t @LAC4 and EU CyberNet Summer School.” – Liina Areng, EU CyberNet Director.

EU CyberNet’s Expert Pool, a global community build on excellence of cyber professionals committed to building a safer, more resilient cyberspace, has grown to almost 500 experts from 67 countries who have contributed to over 200 actions in 93 countries since its launch in 2019.

Building Cybersecurity Resilience: TTX Coaching and Training in Brazil

On a mission to bolster cybersecurity preparedness, EU CyberNet and LAC4, with experts Julia Schuetze and Andrés Velázquez, executed a full-day tabletop exercise (TTX) training for CTIR Gov in Brazil to equip Brazil’s national cybersecurity response teams with the tools to design and facilitate their own sector-specific exercises.
