Full-day workshop brought together cybersecurity professionals to examine how AI is transforming OSINT and threat intelligence work, and how AI can support intelligence collection, analysis and investigations while keeping human judgement and responsible practices at the centre. 

Led by EU CyberNet experts Ago Ambur and Vytenis Benetis, the workshop combined practical exercises with investigation scenarios and covered advanced OSINT techniques, cyber threat intelligence (CTI) workflows, AI-supported information collection and analysis, prompt engineering and intelligence reporting. 

Participants explored through exercises and investigation scenarios how AI can help analysts connect information and support investigative work while also examining the challenges that come with integrating AI into intelligence processes, including taking into account risks such as AI hallucinations, misinformation, data privacy and prompt injection. 

Workshop provided an opportunity for participants to test AI-supported approaches in practical scenarios and consider how these tools and complement traditional OSINT and CTI methods. 

Session on responsible AI use in cybersecurity 

In addition to the workshop, EU CyberNet Director Liina Areng contributed to a conference session titled “Incident Response, Crisis Management and Cyber Resilience” which explored public-private cooperartion, coordinated incident response and whole-of-society approach in strengthening resilience.  

Background 

Held under the theme ”Resilient by Design: Protecting Critical Infrastructure” and organised by Cyber Security Brunei (CSB) and the Brunei Cybersecurity Association (BCSA), the conference brought together 1500 participants.
