Strengthening Cyber Capacity: EU Diplomats to Sub-Saharan African Countries Gathered for Training on Foundational Elements of Cyber Capacity Building

EU CyberNet welcomed the staff of the Delegations of the European Union and the Embassies of EU Member States to Sub-Saharan African countries this week in Nairobi, Kenya to equip them with knowledge of the evolving landscape of cyberspace, cybersecurity and methods to formulate, design and monitor cyber capacity building programming in Sub-Saharan Africa for greater EU-Africa cyber coordination.

The course, driven by the ever-evolving cyber landscape and need to increase coherence and coordination among EU-led cyber capacity building initiatives in the region, equipped participants with thorough understanding of cyber concepts, cyber policy, cyber capacity building and the role of European Union in leading cyber capacity building efforts.

  • Discussed how to ensure the coherence of cybersecurity-related matters across policy areas;
  • Shared best practices for developing and designing policy-driven and value-oriented cyber capacity building frameworks;
