EU CyberNet Summer School 2024 Day 3 Wrap-Up: Hands-On Learning

The final day of the EU CyberNet Summer School 2024 was focusing on the cybersecurity challenges specific to the maritime sector and putting theory in practice with a deeper understanding of the strategies needed to protect critical infrastructures against evolving cyber threats.

The 3rd day began with an in-depth session dedicated to cybersecurity strategies for maritime infrastructures by Sérgio Bryton. Given the increasing complexity of cyber threats, these discussions were critical in equipping participants with the knowledge required to safeguard maritime operations effectively.

A focal point of the day was the comprehensive maritime cybersecurity exercise, guided by Daniel Ioniţă. This hands-on session allowed participants to apply the theories and strategies discussed throughout the Summer School. The exercise provided practical experience, reinforcing the importance of readiness and quick decision-making in real-world scenarios.

As the event drew to a close, participants and organizers reflected on the key takeaways from the past three days. The EU CyberNet Summer School has provided a platform for meaningful exchanges of ideas, best practices, and practical exercises that will undoubtedly strengthen the cybersecurity of critical infrastructures across the EU.

EU CyberNet extends heartfelt thanks to all the participants and speakers we have taken significant steps together toward building a more secure future for Europe’s critical infrastructures.
