High-Level Seminar on Cybersecurity Governance for Maritime Organizations in the Gulf of Guinea

EU CyberNet is supporting four panel discussions at the High-Level Seminar on Cybersecurity Governance for Maritime Organizations in the Gulf of Guinea from 14th to 16th May 2025 in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.

Cecilia Popa, EU CyberNet’s Experts Lead is moderating a panel discussion focusing on cybersecurity application to maritime and port domain, specifically challenges in securing operational technologies, compliance efforts and ways to enhance cyber resilience across the supply chain. Cecilia Popa is also participating in a panel discussion on challenges and future directions of cybersecurity. Panel seeks to address forward-looking discussion on the broader challenes and future directions on cybersecurity, touch on technological innovation, policy gaps and the need for global cooperation.

Niculae Iancu, a EU CyberNet Expert is participating in two panel discussions. The first panel discussion on cybersecurity policy development and strategies will delve into the development of effective cybersecurity policies and strategies, examining how governments and industries can align to create more resilient frameworks amid shifting global threats. In the second panel, participants will explore the latest threat vectors, risk assessment practices and proactive measures to safeguard systems.

Seminar is organised by the Regional Academy of Marine Sciences and Techniques, UNITAR and the European Union.
