EU External Cyber Capacity Building Course

On 11–13 February 2025, the eighth EU External Cyber Capacity Building training for the personnel of EU Delegations will be organised by EU CyberNet in Nairobi, Kenya.

The 3-day training is addressed to programme managers and officials in EU Delegations and headquarters as well as Member States’ diplomats who are not cyber specialists, but who are currently, or may in the future be, involved in the programming, identification, formulation, and implementation of international cooperation actions with a cyber-specific or cyber-relevant focus.

The main goal of the training is to help EU Delegations and partners working in the region to understand key concepts of cyber policies and be able to prepare and run cyber-related capacity building actions. That is, to formulate, design, deliver or support cyber capacity building interventions in the cyber resilience, fight against cybercrime, and cyber diplomacy, based on tested methods, tools and approaches. The course will consider what kinds of cyber engagement may be suitable in relevant regions and how existing programming may contribute to addressing this challenge.

The training is developed in modules that cover the concepts and methodology elaborated in the Operational Guidance for the EU’s international cooperation on cyber capacity building (2nd edition, 2023) as well as the latest policy developments whose awareness is necessary as regards CCB actions. It is a classroom training and will be delivered in English.
